L2 – One Consonant or Two? Spelling Focus: Sometimes double consonants stand for one sound: embarrassment.
MONDAY 9/12: Write L2 words 3x/each + CHOOSE 10 words for PROJECTED (PD – in your own words) and ACTUAL (AD – from the dictionary) definitions.You can use the following website for definitions: http://www.merriam-webster.com/ (Due WED 9/14)

- unnecessary – A uniform is unnecessary for practice.
- occasionally – The teacher occasionally gives a quiz.
- trespass – Don’t trespass on the neighbors’ land.
- dismissed – School is dismissed at 3:00pm.
- challenge – I will challenge her to a chess match.
- forbidden – She was forbidden to drive the car.
- accompany – He will accompany his dad on the trip.
- immediately – Call the fire department immediately.
- exaggerate – He did not lie, but he did exaggerate.
- possessive – Ann is possessive of her clothes.
- aggressive – The more aggressive team won.
- accessory – A flash is an accessory for a camera.
- compassionate – The nurse was compassionate.
- cancellation – The game cancellation is due to rain.
- commemorate – The statue will commemorate the war.
- moccasin – Joe made a leather moccasin at camp.
- accumulate – It takes time to accumulate savings.
- dilemma – It is hard to choose in this dilemma.
- appropriate – The suit is appropriate for the party.
