Dear 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Parents,
I pray your Lenten season is off to a great start! There is much to be grateful for as we reflect on the blessings God has given to each one of us, and the opportunities He sends us to share those blessings with others.
Here are a few reminders for the next couple of weeks:
MASS TOMORROW 3/7/17
Since we will not be having school this Friday due to the teachers’ Professional Development training, we will have our 8am school Mass tomorrow, Tuesday 3/17. Please make sure that your children come to school in their Formal Mass attire.
2ND TRIMESTER GRADES
This trimester ends on Thursday 3/9. All junior high make-up work is due on Wednesday 3/8 and all AR quizzes must be taken by Thursday 3/9. Gradelink is blocked to all students and parents as of today to allow the teachers to begin working on report card comments. If you have questions related to any particular subject, please email the respective teacher.
If you still need your Gradelink username and password, please send a message to Mr. De Loera. There are different accounts for the Parent and the Student. Once you log in through the Parent account, we highly encourage you to set up alerts for Gradelink to notify you of any assignment/test scores that are entered into the online grading system. You can manage the settings at any grading threshold you desire.
TRIMESTER AWARDS + BARNES & NOBLE BOOK FAIR + NOON DISMISSAL 3/17
Mass and 2nd Trimester Awards Ceremony will take place in the morning on Friday 3/17 and Report Cards will be sent home. There will be Noon Dismissal for our St. Patrick’s Day Barnes and Noble Book Fair Fundraiser at Del Amo Mall. We encourage all families to buy B&N Scrip and use it to purchase Summer Reading books! The Junior High Summer Reading books required for the 2017-18 school year are: 7th grade – The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; 8th grade – The Outsiders / 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. Arts Alive will also be performing, so please come and support our school!
Congratulations to our 10 Decathetes who competed yesterday in the Junior High Academic Decathlon! We are very proud of Kacey Alejandre, Brenda Amofa, Lennard Buluran, Jezabelle Cisneros, Izuc Ifediba, Lizbeth Meneses, Crystal Mozqueda, Mara Pasos, Erika Pineda, and Sofia Reyes! They all worked so hard to prepare for this very valuable experience. Much gratitude to our Head Coach Mrs. Navia and all the parents who came to support and provide a wonderful lunch. We look forward to growing our team for next year!
Lastly, thank you all who have been praying for my health. I have been feeling better day by day with the warmer weather, and I am hoping to continue making progress back into lupus remission. Your children have been so helpful and very compassionate on the more difficult days, so I am thankful!
Blessings,
Mrs. Dyogi
