Dear 2nd Grade Parents and Guardians,
Again, thank you for helping the students prepare and finish for their Saint Reports in a timely manner.
Some announcements/reminders this week:
All Saints’ Day Saint Presentations:
-Your child’s Saint Presentations will be extended and spread throughout this week 10/31-11/03 given the noon dismissal tomorrow and busy events happening this week.
–All Saints’ Day costumes and uniforms: Please be aware that although your child will be coming dressed as their Saint they had chosen to research on Wednesday, 11/01, they are still expected to wear their normal school uniforms (not Mass uniform) underneath. They will be asked to take off their Saint costumes after Mass.
Halloween Costume guidelines:
-Costumes Should
- Be child-friendly.
-Costumes Should Not
- Be obstructive, offensive, inappropriate for a Catholic school, gory or violent.
- Drag on the ground.
- Contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another person.
- Contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
- Encourage cross-dressing. Boys dress up like boys and girls dress up like girls
-Masks
- Masks may be worn, but they must not obstruct vision and eyes must be visible at all times.
Red HW Folder:
-The Weekly News should have said “October 31 to November 3” at the top rather then last week’s dates. Please excuse my typo.
-Stories your child had been reading the past few months were sent home in your child’s folder. Keep these at home for extra reading practice. I do not need these to be returned.
-Fluency page: Please remember to write your child’s name on top, have your child read it every night from beginning to end on their own, time them for one minute each day, and record the total number of words and mistakes. Please remember to help correct any mistakes and complete the comprehension page by Friday.
-Math HW on Tuesday will be a photocopied worksheet I will be sending home.
Thank you parents and I hope to see you join in all the festivities this week!! God Bless!
-Sr. Tina
