Hello First Grade Families!
Happy Sunday! We are just ONE day away from our field trip to the LA Zoo tomorrow, March 12th, and the first graders couldn’t be more excited! Below are the chaperones for the field trip–thanks again to all the parents who volunteered!
- Mrs. Lakey (Sophia’s Mom)
- Mrs. Lomu (Taisia’s Mom)
- Mrs. Almazan (Hannah’s Mom)
- Mrs. Marthaler (Erin’s Mom)
- Mrs. Lopez-Ramirez (Daniel’s Mom)
- Mrs. Ramirez (Sergio’s Mom)
- Mrs. Leos (Sofia’s Mom)
- Mrs. Souza (Sofia’s Mom)
- Mr. Molina (Lorenzo’s Dad)
- Mr. Hernandez (Roman’s Dad)
- Mrs. Bermejo (Chelsea’s Mom)
- Mrs. Asidor (Matthew’s Mom)
Every group will have 2 chaperones and 4-6 students each. Mrs. Ray and I will be overseeing the groups to ensure the safety of all students.
We will be eating lunch at the LA Zoo. The chaperones will be carrying the lunches of the students in every group. In order to ensure organization of lunch at the field trip site, Mrs. Ray and I are requesting that all students bring their lunch to school, and their lunch follows these guidelines:
- Gallon size Ziploc bag
- Labeled with your child’s first & last name, and “1st grade”
- Pack all lunch items that can be THROWN AWAY/RECYCLED when lunch is finished (ex. small sized sandwich baggies, plastic forks, etc.)
- Pack drinks that can be THROWN AWAY/RECYCLED when lunch is finished (ex. plastic crystal geyser water bottles, juice boxes, etc.)
Since the chaperones are driving separately, it is important that there is nothing left over from the lunches as there will be no way to bring it back to campus.
Regarding attire for the field trip students should come to school wearing their formal Mass attire. Students may wear comfortable walking shoes (ex. the shoes they wear for P.E.), and they may wear a hat to protect from the sun. It will be sunny tomorrow, so please be sure to put plenty of sunscreen on your child tomorrow morning!
We will be departing campus tomorrow at 9:00am, and we will be leaving the LA Zoo at approximately 1:00pm. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for your cooperation and support as our class engages in this positive learning experience!
Warmly,
Ms. Lozano
