Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to our Room 14 family here at St. Anthony of Padua School! My name is Mrs. Gomez-Contreras, and I will be your child’s 4th grade teacher. This is my fourth year working here at St. Anthony’s and I am an alumni of the school. I am proud to be a member of our SAP community.
It is a tremendously exciting time to be a student, parent, or faculty member at Saint Anthony of Padua. The students in the fourth grade will continue to build a community and learn Christ-like conduct in an academically rigorous classroom in which learning objectives and standards are addressed daily within the context of our school’s Student Learning Expectations.
As parents, you have the greatest influence over the lives of our students. The students will be working together to form a compassionate community of learners who exemplify Jesus Christ’s teachings. Additionally, we will have many fun and enriching classroom activities and projects. I sincerely look forward to forging partnerships with parents in order to best serve our school’s children. Throughout the school year you will be receiving the take-home folder, bulletin, emails, and my blog will be posted regularly to keep you updated on our classroom life.
I am looking forward to getting to know the fourth grade students so that we can create our community of learners. In order to do so, it would be helpful if you filled out the student information sheet and a survey will go out Thursday. This survey is simply a means by which I will be able to assess the needs of your child. It is not necessary that you reveal personal information and anything you say will be kept in extreme confidence. This survey is not mandatory, but helpful.
I know this is a very exciting time for parents, children, and the whole family! You will be receiving more information about grading, classroom procedures, and the curriculum at Back-to-School Night, which is September 5th at 6:30pm. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, do not hesitate to send me an email (agomez@stanthonygardena.org), note, or contact me at school (310-329-7170).
Thank you and God bless you,
Angelica Gomez-Contreras
