Homework & Reminders 10/9/18

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are well. I enjoyed meeting with each and every one of you last week to discuss your child’s progress. We have had an amazing year of learning and growing so far, and and if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach our. Our partnership is what will help the first graders continue to be so successful!

Attached is the homework assignment sheet for the week. Please also take a look at the reminders and announcements for the week:

-The first graders will take a quiz tomorrow on the lessons covered thus far in chapter 2. You can help your child study by reviewing subtraction facts from 0-10!

-This week’s sight word journals were attached to your child’s sight word journal today. Please note that the date on top of the words is incorrect, but the words are correct.

-Students should turn in their completed sight word activities in their journal on Friday, October 12th.

-Students will be tested on their sight words this Friday, October 12th.

-Students will be graded on if they can spell each of their sight words correctly. Remember, these are the words that first graders should be able to automatically recognize when reading independently!

-This week, the students are learning more about the setting in different stories. Please remind your child that the setting of a story is where and when the story takes place.

-Because we are focusing on the setting this week, students should read a fiction book each evening.

-Please remind your child to turn in their reading log every day for full credit!
