Dear First Grade Families,
I hope you all had a great day! I wanted to email you regarding homework and announcements this last week of school before Christmas break. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Homework
- Though the only written homework for this week is for math, students are still encouraged to read 20-30 minutes each night. There is NO reading log this week and no sight word journal!
- Math homework from yesterday will be turned in on Thursday (12/13). This should be attached to your child’s homework assignment sheet.
Dress Code
Below are a few reminders for what students should wear to school the next three days:
- Tomorrow (12/12) students should be in their formal uniform for Mass.
- Thursday (12/13) students should be in their regular uniform. There will be NO PE this week.
- Friday (12/14) students should be in their formal uniform for Mass.
Christmas Show & Friday Dismissal
- The Christmas Show is this Thursday (12/13) at 6pm. Students should be in the classroom at 5:30pm.
- Our last day of school before Christmas break is this Friday (12/14) at 12pm (students do not need to bring their backpacks). There will be no daycare.
Gifts
- As a reminder, first grade will not be having a formal gift exchange in the classroom.
- Instead, we encourage everyone to donate new or gently used toys to the Student Government toy drive.
- If you did already purchase small gifts for the class, you may have your child bring them to school on Thursday (12/13). (Since Friday is a short day, we will not have enough time to pass anything out!!) Also, please make sure there is enough for everyone in the class (30 students total). Please remember that this is optional!
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation! Have a great evening!
Warmly,
Ms. Lozano
