Dearest Parents and Guardians,
Hoping you are staying dry and healthy! Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it in today because I was recovering from a cold. I’m feeling much better after a full weekend plus an extra day of rest. Likewise, if your child is sick, please allow them to get the full rest they need at home to recover. Moreover, we are in an enclosed classroom for most of the day (especially on rainy days) which is ideal for any bug to spread easily despite extra precautions such as using hand sanitizer, wiping down desks, and lysol spray. Thank you for your consideration!
You may find our Newsletter attached. Some announcements/reminders follow:
–Chapter 4 Math Test: Starting last Friday and through Wednesday, the class will be reviewing Chapter 4 Math concepts before their scheduled Test on Thursday. Please especially help your child really analyze the word problems before answering in the mock test sent home. I will be going over these same problems in class for review.
-Prayers: Please have your child focus on the prayers in the following order: Act of Contrition, Steps to Confession (not exactly a prayer, but they’ll need to know this), Penitential Act, 10 Commandments, and all other prayers. Although I haven’t gotten to all the prayers in class, it’s always good exposure when prayed and practiced at home. Thank you for your support!
-Field Trip: Our class will be having our 3rd field trip to a Peter Pan Musical at Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro scheduled for Thursday, January 24th. A field trip form has been sent home today. We were able to get the bus ride for free. However, in order for students and chaperones to attend, there is a contribution of $14 for tickets to the Musical. Please fill out forms and return them in your child’s red folder by this Friday 1/18. Payments can be directly submitted through the office.
-Please pack a disposable lunch sack for the trip with a small snack included.
-Have students wear regular uniforms.
-Chaperones: We are able to have 6 chaperones. All Chaperones must be fingerprinted and Virtus Trained. 3 slots will be priority for Room Parents. For the remaining 3, I would like to give an opportunity to parents who have not yet been able to chaperone for any field trips in the past starting from K-2. Please email me based on a first come first serve basis.
–Teach Touching Safety (TTS) Forms: It is imperative that you fill these forms out by this Friday, January 18. All teachers need to teach these lessons by the end of January. If you would like to opt out, please contact Mrs. Grey directly via email to get a form in the office. Thanks so much!
Love and prayers,
Sr. Tina
