Dear First Grade Families,
I pray you are all doing well! We had a fantastic day full of learning today! Below are some reminders for the week:
Homework
-The reading log for this week is located behind your child’s homework assignment sheet. This week, your child should read a fiction book and write two words that describe the character in the text they read. Remember, reading logs are turned in every day!
-Students should complete one sight word activity in their sight word journal every night. Students will be tested on the spelling of their sight words this Friday, March 8th. Here are this week’s words:
- am, its, now, find
-Math homework for Monday-Wednesday comes from your child’s Go Math! Standards Practice book. Students will take their Chapter 6 test on Thursday, March 7th. On Thursday, the only assigned homework is to go on ST Math at home for at least 20 minutes. Please let me know if you are having any problems with accessing ST Math at home!
Ash Wednesday
-St. Anthony’s will be attending Ash Wednesday Mass this Wednesday, March 6th, at 8:00 am. Students should come to school on Wednesday dressed in their formal Mass attire. We will not attend Mass on Friday, but we will attend Stations of the Cross Friday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
Finally, as many of you know there are a lot of illnesses passing through St. Anthony’s. If your child is feeling ill, please allow them to stay home and rest (your child must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school!). If your child missed turning in homework last Friday, please make sure they turn it in ASAP in order to receive credit!
Thank you for everything you do to support your child’s academic growth! It was so nice to see so many of you at Family Mass yesterday, and I hope you all can attend the Special Person’s Dance this Saturday, March 9th! Have a great night!
Warmly,
Ms. Lozano
