Dear Parents and Guardians,
Last week I was grateful to be on a WCEA/WASC Visiting Committee with Ms. Mahar, to help another Catholic school earn accreditation status. Next year, around this time, our school will also welcome a Visiting Committee for our own school accreditation. Our last visit was in 2014, right before I became principal here. We received the maximum 6-year accreditation. In Spring 2020, the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) accrediting agency representatives will look at our school’s Self Study, and we hope we get all of your input and feedback to improve student learning and increase Catholic Identity at SAP School. We are asking all parents and students to fill out surveys. If you ever have any questions or concerns about school, please ask your child’s homeroom teacher and your room parent, and know that I am here to assist as well. We thank you for your continued partnership to help you raise your children to be great people!
There is no School for Students this Monday, March 18, due to our off-campus Faculty Lenten retreat, led by our pastor, Monsignor Sal Pilato.
Last week, we had a successful turnout for our Scholastic Book Fair, thanks to the skillful planning of Mrs. Lourdes Islas, Mrs. Pattie Padilla and Mrs. Claudia Garcia! A portion of everything sold will go back to our teachers and our classroom libraries. Thank you also to the Marthalers (Erin’s parents) and Coastal Coffees for being on campus last week! A portion of the proceeds is also donated back to the school. Thank you for all your support of St. Anthony’s, and for coming out to enjoy a fun week-long event with our school families.
We are thankful to all the parents who attended our 2nd Trimester Mass and Awards Ceremony last Friday. Please also see the email sent to you regarding STAR scores. We have a culture of excellence at St. Anthony’s, and when your children are awarded, it is a reflection on them and you as parents, so thank you for your continued involvement, and investment in your greatest treasures, your children. We also want to recognize our 8th graders who have already been accepted into Catholic high schools. We are proud of you!
Our Spring Picture Day is on March 21, Students may wear free dress on this day ONLY if they have purchased pictures and are taking photos. May God continue to bless us all this Lenten season.

PARENT REFERRAL PROGRAMS!
Parents who refer new families, who are assets to our community and remain in good standing for their whole first year, will receive a $150 referral incentive in Scrip, or the entire amount can be credited to your account in June. Families must request this from the office and can refer as many new students as they like (unlimited) but this would refer to families, (not $150 per new student). In addition, per the ADLA marketing initiative, they are offering a $100 tuition discount for the new families you refer, and are accepted! Check out www.CatholicEd.com/Refer
