Good Afternoon Parents,
I hope you all had a positive start to Holy Week yesterday. There is noon dismissal on Thursday, April 18th. No daycare will be provided this day. Holy Thursday is a solemn day. The students will have a walking recess and pretzels will be provided for snack. We will also attend the 8th graders presentation of living Stations of the Cross. We will not celebrate Easter, until we return from break.
On May 3rd, we will have an Easter egg hunt for the class. We are looking for donations of pre-filled eggs. If you would like to contribute, please bring the eggs after Easter break.
Easter break begins Friday, April 19th. School will resume April 29th.
This week we are focused on the long e (eagle) and short e (egg) sounds. Our sight words are have, help, one, every, ask, walk. In reading we will continue to compare and contrast. In math, we will practice skip counting by 10s and 5s to 100.
This morning, our class was announced as the top earning class in the Jog-a-Thon. We have earned a lunch party for the class and gift card for the teacher. Thank you all for your support!
The Clothing and Textile Drive will continue until Wednesday. Please leave your donations anytime during this time frame near the garage doors by the Noah’s Ark mural near the grassy area in secure plastic bags. If you have any questions please contact Leah Nakayama at (310) 686-1194 or NakayamaFam2003@gmail.com.
Finally, please save the date, Tuesday, May 7th for our last kindergarten parent meeting. Join us at 6:30pm in the classroom. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
