Good Afternoon Parents,
I hope you are all having a great week so far! I want to take a minute to share how proud I am of our students. Today we completed our second STEM challenge of the year. Students were asked to use popsicle sticks and clothes pins to create a ‘gate’ for their five little pumpkins. This was a connecting activity to our reading lesson, with the book “Pete the Cat and the Five Little Pumpkins”.
The class worked hard and did a lot of problem solving before completing the challenge successfully. They took the materials home today and I hope you have a chance to try the activity as a family.
I’ve attached pictures of a few of our designs. We are looking forward to closing out pumpkin week tomorrow. We will be counting the seeds to find out how many are in our pumpkin!
Thank you,
Ms. Strohm
