Good Afternoon Parents,
This week we are focusing on letter K, sight words will, be, into, that, your, who, and word family -et. We have started math chapter 7 represent, count, and write numbers 11-19. In Religion, we continue our Consecration to Mary, as well as discuss the gifts of love from God. We will begin our life science unit this week.
Tomorrow we will complete the Empowering God’s Children/Teaching Touching Safety lesson. Attendance is important for this lesson.
This Thursday, February 13th, students may wear red or pink shirts for Valentine’s Day. They can also wear jeans or their uniform bottoms.
On Friday, February 14th, we will have a small valentine exchange in the classroom. Students are welcome to bring in a small token for their classmates. Please note, we have 31 students in the class and peanut allergies. Please do not send in any candy or snacks containing peanuts. In order to limit the amount of class time spent passing out valentines, please do not address them personally to any specific child. Instead, you can leave the to: section blank, and simply fill out the from section. Alternatively, you can address the valentines To: My Friend. Please also please ensure that the valentines are all the same, not separate gifts for boys and girls.
We will also be celebrating Mrs. Doughty’s birthday on Friday. Her birthday is on February 16th.
As a reminder, there will be no school on Monday, February 17th. I will out February 18th-20th to be part of a WASC visiting team. Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Doughty will be covering the class during my absence.
