Hi 8th graders,
I’m at school right now and I really miss you guys. I know this is a really weird time, but I also know that God is with us. He always has been and always will be.
A few IMPORTANT THINGS:
Today is Day 27 of Marian Consecration, so please do the Daily Bible Reading, reflection, and prayers. If you don’t want to do it by yourself, I recorded it for you below to pray along with me (sorry I forgot the planner version of the Magnificat so I used the one in the PDF). Here is today’s Daily Reading (John 19:25-27):
Meanwhile, standing near the cross of Jesus were his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, here is your son.’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home.
This is a very timely reading because it is the Scripture where Jesus from the cross intentionally gives Mama Mary to us as our Mother. She is covering us right now, lifting us up in prayer, drawing us into her arms and into the arms of her Son.
Just want to let you know that starting tomorrow, we’ll be sticking to the Junior High block schedule. Next week, I will have you start doing work from your Religion books and roll out a long-term project on Eucharistic Miracles (it’s going to be SO COOL!).
For now, please just work on the following every day during your REL/ELA time starting tomorrow:
*Marian Consecration Prayers
*AR Reading (20-30min) + AR Journal Question (Due EVERY DAY by 10am)
*Quill.org Grammar (15min – at least 1 activity/day for your 5 new activities/week by FRIDAY 3/20 midnight)
*Handwriting p.66-69 (pictures of pages uploaded to ELA GoogleClassroom by THUR)
I’ll add Word Study/Everyday Spelling + reading and activities for In the Face of Darkness for you to do, so please stay posted and watch out for those announcements.
Your parents will be the ones to monitor your AR Tests. You will let them know that you are going to take the AR test and do it in front of them, as if they were me in the classroom. They should be the ones to fill out the scores on your AR Book Logs.
I’m still trying to figure out a schedule for us to meet on Zoom, but I’d at least like us to do the weekly Rosary on Thursdays together. So we’ll try it this week and see how it goes! You’ll get a Zoom link from me in REL GoogleClassroom to join the class.
NOTE: I WILL BE TAKING ATTENDANCE based on an AR Journal Question posted every day, which will be due by 10am. If you do not submit your answer to the journal question for the day, you will be considered ABSENT.
Take care of yourselves and God bless you all,
Mrs. Dyogi
