Hello SAP Students and Families!
I hope you are all well and adjusting well to distance learning. For this week, I want to keep it light for P.E. Class. I think we could all use a Mental Break from everything that is going on around us. The weather seems to be promising this week and if it is feasible for your family, I would like you to go on a family neighborhood walk. The purpose of this walk is to get some sun (vitamin D) and get in a little bit of purposeful family time outdoors for a short period. Just a short walk around your block! I have begun doing this with my own family (weather permitting) everyday, and I have found it to be stress relieving for all of us. Our mental and emotional health is equally important to our physical health, and it is amazing what an outdoor walk can do to reset your mind.
If you are unable to do a neighborhood walk, I am attaching a video link for you to do indoors on your scheduled PE day. Physical exercise is also a fantastic way to reset your mind. There are two separate video links. One for K-5, and one for 6-8. You may do both if you have some extra energy to burn!
On your walk, take a picture of something you see and really like on your walk, (ex. flowers, car, pet, tree, etc.) You do not have to be in the photo unless you would like to be, OR take a picture of yourself completing the workout video.
Monday: The workout Video link is for both 4th and 5th Grade
to be completed on assigned PE DAY, in lieu of neighborhood walk.

Additionally:
Grades 3-8 should also be doing their daily Push – Ups (10), Sit – Ups (10), and Squats (10). This was assigned to the students since the beginning of the year. The goal is to increase how many repetitions the students can do strictly and consecutively.
Grades K-2 just started learning how to do proper Push-Ups, Sit-Ups, and Squats. I encourage these grade levels to do at least 5 of each exercise per day to build and increase muscle strength.
God Bless,
Mrs. Rubalcava
