Hello St. Anthony Parents and Guardians,
I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy! I wanted to give you a few updates for music.
Music Class Grades
Please note, that music class is still graded the same way. Every week students get an assignment that is worth 10 points and is graded on if they did it, or they did not. I have been accepting late work, but please note that a point will be taken off for late work. This goes into the music grades each week (I’ve been waiting for one week past the due date to enter them on Gradelink).
This week, I did not assign anything and it is catch up week. Please make sure all your assignments are up to date and submitted.
This is a current list of what has been assigned:
Hope will Rise Project (K-8)
Hope will Rise Reflection (3-8)
Build Your Kingdom Here or Trust in You Hand Motions (K-5)
Uplfiting Playlist (K-5)
Musical Genre Project (6-8)
If these assignments are not completed by Friday, May 1, 2020, I will start giving half credit for work completed after that date. If you are having issues with uploading you can try to email me the material. If that doesn’t work, please email me to let me know you are having trouble.
Starting next week (May), students will be given the option to do the weekly assignment OR attend a Zoom Meeting for their music grade. This will hopefully give you some flexibilty and options. Students will receive credit for either attending the Zoom Meeting or completing the assignment, but they will only need to complete one or the other.
Shows and Musicals
Our classroom musical shows have unfortunately been canceled. I am sad that we won’t be able to perform together this year, but am looking forward to next year and pray that we will be able to hold a show then. Since this would have been the fifth graders last classroom musical, I am planning to have them keep the same show and perform it as sixth graders next school year. I will be having the fourth graders do a read through of their show at some point via Zoom.
We will be postponing Frozen Jr. to the next school year (20/21). When we have more information about how school will look in the Fall we will make a decision about if we will hold Frozen Jr. in the Fall or Spring. If you have already paid your musical fee, Mr. Aguilar will be refunding your money. We will be inviting any 8th graders back who would like to be part of the show. If they are not able to be a part of the show, we do hope to recognize them the night of the show as honored guests!
Again, I wish you the best, God Bless you!
Mrs. Garcia
