Dear Third Grade Families,
I hope you had a restful three day weekend. Here is the information for this week and attached below is my lesson plans. Please read all of the information being sent and posted in our school blog.
AGENDA OF THE WEEK
Attached below are our Agenda of the week & lesson plan. I advise that you check out the agenda for all the materials we will need for each subjects. Please try to have all the materials ready for your student to avoid interruptions during class.
WORK STATION
Third graders should be sitting at a table on a chair in an area that doesn’t have their siblings around. Parents or guardians are encouraged to stay in the room while zoom is in session or if you are not available, have an adult check on your student from time to time. Please be respectful to others, be mindful of the background or noises that is distracting to your child or other students.
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
This coming Wednesday, September 9 at 6:30PM is our Back to School Night. Parents will be joining first Mrs. Grey in our all school zoom meeting and to be followed by classroom meeting.
ST MATH
This is a reminder that ST Math is part of students’ math grade. I have noticed that some students are not and/or working less of the expected number of minutes on their ST Math in a week. Students in third grade are to practice ST Math 90 minutes each week. In our schedule they have to work on it at least 20 minutes daily. ST Math is a great practice for our students. Please do encourage them to work on it.
AR (Accelerated Reader)
Students should read a book daily for 20 minutes. I will be sending AR goals and ZPD (book level) on a separate email this week. Students may take AR quizzes between 7:30AM to 4PM only as that is the only the time the system will allow them to do it. Please supervise them while taking the quiz, if not available, have your student join the zoom with me from 2-3pm.
STAR Math Test Schedule(Names will be posted in Google Classroom)
STAR testing continues this week. Students must have two devices on their test days (one for zoom and one for testing). Students may need to use a scratch paper (whiteboard is okay) for math test. Also, please make sure that your student has the correct url saved or bookmarked in their device and is able to login into their renaissance account on their own. This will help us start the testing on time. Here is the correct linkhttps://global-zone52.renaissance-go.com/welcomeportal/306665.
