Good Afternoon Kindergarten Families,
I pray you are all doing well and enjoyed the long weekend. Please read the announcements below for important information regarding our class.
CONFERENCES
As a reminder, the week of 10/4-10/7 will be noon dismissal due to parent teacher conferences. Please be sure to sign up and indicate if you would like to meet in person or via Zoom. The parent-teacher conference sign up can be found here.
SNACKS
Please be sure your child brings a healthy snack daily. We do have emergency snacks in the classroom for children who occasionally forget one. We do encourage healthy snacks and would request that your child does not bring candy to school. If it is a special treat, we do ask students to have it for dessert after they have eaten their lunch. Please do not send full size candy bars.
MORNING DROP OFF
Morning drop is from 7:30am-7:50am. When students arrive they should hang up their things and place their green folder in the bin. Students should then sit on the blue bench or wait in line if it is too crowded on the bench. Students know that there should not be any running or playing in the morning. Students have been given many reminders about this and will receive think sheets if they choose to not to sit on the bench or stand in line. If you are staying with your child until the bell, please help them to remember these rules.
WEEKLY FOCUS
This week our sight words are a and to and we will focus on letters x, y, and z. In math we will continue to compare numbers to five and will wrap up chapter 2. In reading we will answer questions about key details and publish picture books in writing.
This Friday, October 1st will be our class retreat in honor of the Feast of the Guardian Angels. We will visit the church, pray, and complete activities in honor of our angels. Please practice praying the Guardian Angel prayer and Sign of the Cross at home.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you,
Ms. Strohm —
