Dear SAP School Families,
On Friday, 10/29, we will have our Halloween Celebration at the school. There will be a 12 Noon Dismissal. Please note that our Office closes at 3pm that day, and Daycare will only be offered till 3pm after the Trunk or Treat and Halloween Parade/activities.
Please pass this information on to any representatives in charge of picking up your students on that date.If your child is staying for Daycare until 3pm, please provide your child with a lunch from home as Happy Lunch will NOT be served on 10/29.
In addition you may also send your child with money that day, as the 8th grade is having a pizza, chips, and drink fundraiser after school on 10/29, so please support! They are also selling Boo Grams for Halloween.
Due to COVID, parents and siblings are NOT allowed to come to the parade or Trunk or Treat this year. It is only for students, staff, and parents who are helping with Trunk or Treat. Parents decorating cars and passing out treats can earn up to 3 service hours per family. Halloween originated from All Hallows’ Eve, when people dressed up as saints. We will be doing this on Monday, Nov 1 for our All Saints’ Day Mass, so students are able to dress up for fun on 10/29, as long as it is appropriate for a Catholic school.
Here are some Halloween Reminders to help the day run as smoothly as possible.
For the Halloween celebration on Friday October 29, 2021, all students and adults working at or volunteering on campus for Trunk or Treat may dress in their favorite appropriate Halloween costume and must follow these guidelines.
Teachers will be asking students in advance what costumes they intend to wear. They must be appropriate and pre-approved, or a student may be sent home to change.
- Costumes should be child-friendly. No inflatables, no gory or scary clowns, no devils, or scary costumes
- Costumes Should Not:
- Be obstructive, offensive, inappropriate for a Catholic school (skimpy or revealing), gory, evil, or violent
- Drag on the ground
- Contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another person.
- Contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
- Encourage cross-dressing. Boys dress up like boys and girls dress up like girls.
Students have to be able to sit down in their seats and come to school already dressed in their costumes. Students will bring their own bag/pail for Trunk or Treat. Masks may be worn for the parade only, but they must not obstruct vision and eyes must be visible at all times. Masks will be taken off after the parade and picture taking. There may be a green screen available for picture-taking. Please be sure costumes meet all these guidelines. Additional reminders for Parents Volunteers:
- Please don’t forget that all approved and cleared (with Virtus certificates and ADLA Fingerprinting) volunteer parents helping with Trunk or Treat are to sign in at the front desk and wear a visitors pass at all time while on campus.
- If you are planning to pick up your child early, you must sign them out in the school office and the classroom teacher will be notified.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation in making this Halloween fun and safe for our school!
God bless,
Mrs. Grey
