Good Afternoon Kindergarten Families,
I pray you all had a lovely Thanksgiving! It’s hard to believe we have only three weeks until Christmas break.
This week we are studying letter F and sight words is, so, of, how. Today we graduated from writing pages to writing journals. Our class is working hard to write sentences with spacing and a period at the end. In Religion, we are focusing on the season of Advent. In math we continue to work with addition and numbers pairs for 5-7.
Please note that this Wednesday at morning assembly, those students who were not able to join us on 11/19 at our First Trimester Awards ceremony will be recognized at the St. Jude Statue at 7:50am. Parents of those receiving awards, who were not at the church that day, you are welcome to join us outside at the assembly.
Today after recess Mrs. Grey requested all teachers to do a uniform check. Please be sure your child is following the dress code daily to avoid uniform infractions. Boy’s pants and shorts should be from the vicky marsha uniform company and without a drawstring. Boys must wear crew socks, no ankle socks. Girls may wear crew socks or knee high socks.
Lastly, this Friday we will celebrate Las Posadas with the 4th grade. Students have the option to bring a costume to wear over their school uniform. The options are barn animals, angels, or shepherds.
We also need one girl to dress as Mary and one boy to dress as Joseph. If your child has a Mary or Joseph costume and is able to bring it on Friday, please let me know. Mary and Joseph will be assigned first come, first serve.
All costumes should be kept in your child’s backpack until later in the day. Again, costumes are optional.
Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you,
Ms. Strohm
