Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for making our Catholic Schools’ Week so memorable! Our entire faculty and staff are grateful to have wonderful parents like you to help make our work experience at the school enjoyable. We truly appreciate our faith community.
This Wednesday, 2/9, is our 2nd Mandatory General Parent Meeting on Zoom at 6:30pm. Our 3rd and final General Parent Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, so please mark your calendars. I will email blast a Zoom link to all families. Your teachers will have this link as well. Wednesday is also our 100th day of school! Your child may come to school wearing Rams gear or dress up as a 100-year-old person. This is optional. Uniforms are always acceptable to wear on dress up days.
Just a reminder that each year you sign off that you and your child have read and understood the school policies written in the Parent Student Handbook. You also sign off on the Christian Code of Conduct and Parent Student Pledge. We ask that all members of our school community show respect to others at all times. Parents, please also remind your children about Internet Safety and appropriate use of electronic devices while at home and at school. With regard to the students’ safety and their education, there is an Acceptable Use Policy at our school for electronics, and we encourage parents to partner with us to ensure students are monitored at home when online. Our K-8 students are NOT encouraged to have cell phones or social media accounts. This almost always leads to trouble during and after school hours, and it is not a good habit to start while your child is young. We will speak about this at our meeting on Wednesday. Also, if your child is absent, you must notify the office between 7:30 and 8:30am the morning they are absent. The office number is 310-329-7170. Excessive absences that are unexcused will result in the school having to call authorities. Please see the handbook for the school policies on truancy.
Mrs. Nakayama will continue to offer drive through COVID- testing again this Saturday, February 12 from 8am-10am on campus. We pray for our 2nd graders as they prepare for their Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. This Saturday 2/12 is their class retreat in the Hall with Ms. Gomez. Sat, Feb 12 is also the Kindergarten Round up. Ms. Strohm and I will be testing students for our Kindergarten class next year.
Valentine’s Day will be observed on Monday, 2/14. Students can wear pink and red shirts and jeans. In addition, on Monday 2/21, we celebrate the Birthday of our Presidents. There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, 2/21, due to the Presidents’ Day holiday.
Re-registration for our current students for next school year will take place online this year for one week from February 22-25. Also, don’t forget to pre-order your yearbook before the price goes up.

SCHOOL DONATIONS AND SERVICE HOURS THROUGH INTERIOR MAINTENANCE
For families looking to pay off their service hour commitment, our school gives the option to buy Scrip/gift cards and donate them to SAP. We buy a lot of materials and supplies from Office Depot, Walmart/Sam’s Club, and Target for much needed supplies, so if you buy Scrip valued at $10/hour and donate it to the school to offset costs, we will credit your service hour account. (Next year our service hours will be worth $15/hr. to keep up with the minimum wage.) Parents who volunteer on Saturdays can earn service hours cleaning our school with the Interior Maintenance PLC. Please join the group. Thanks in advance! The next few Saturdays are February 19, March 12, March 26, April 2, April 9, May 7 and May 21.
