Praying that everyone is doing well! Here is all the information that you and your child will need for this week 2/28-3/4. I ask everyone to please read all the information below to avoid questions that are clearly stated on this email.
Homework
Please make sure to follow the daily assignment on our homework weekly list that will be sent on Monday. Kindly sign the homework list and your child’s behavior chart daily

- Reading-2 Raz-kids book (listen, read, record & quiz)
- Word Study- (Tues. & Thurs.) Word Study decodable on Seesaw (listen, read, record & highlight words with long i (CVCe)
- 4 Sight words notebook activities- Week 19 (Students must use their March menu, choose DIFFERENT activities every day)

Raz-kids homework
I have noticed multiple Raz-kids submissions were not being done properly. Too loud background noise, students were not reading fluently (yelling, singing, reading too fast), movements being recorded, or just reading first pages of the book. Parents, please monitor or check your child’s homework recordings.

Read Across America Week – 2/28-3/4
We have some fun activities planned for the students to help us celebrate this week! Please see the attached flyer: Read Across America 21-22 Flyer
Monday- Silly Socks day
- Wear silly or mismatched socks while we read some silly books!
Tuesday- Character Counts
- Dress up like one of your favorite book characters!
Wednesday- Get Cozy
- Bring a stuffed animal to cozy up with while we read today!
Thursday- Hair Love
- Wear your hair in a style or wear your favorite hat!
Friday- Bright Readers!
- Bring a flashlight for when we are reading our story in the library!
I am looking for parents that are interested in doing read alouds for this week. Parents should have volunteer clearance to be on campus (Virtus-trained, fingerprinted, and vaccination cards) Let me know if you are interested!
School Mass on Wednesday, 3/2
Our School Mass this week will be on Ash Wednesday, beginning of Lent. But since we have PE, I will still have to confirm with Mrs. Grey if our firsties are allowed to wear PE uniform on that day. I will keep you updated once approved.
March 14, Monday- K-3 Aquarium of the Pacific fieldtrip
We will have our fieldtrip on March 14, Monday to Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. We are still in the process of finalizing the bus that we will use. Once finalized, I will inform everyone with regards with the fees that will be collected. Each child will pay for the entrance and our bus fee.
Classroom Wishlist
The following supplies are things that the students and I would greatly appreciate, we use these supplies daily in our classroom.
- Baby wipes (used to wipe sweaty faces after lunch)
- Painters blue tape (used for instruction)
- 8×11 printer paper (used for all printed activities in class, homework & letters)
2nd trimester grades
This week will be the final week for our 2nd trimester. This Friday 3/4 is the last day of the 2nd Trimester. I will be finalizing all grades by Thursday night, March 3rd. Please make sure to submit all homework on time, the latest will be at 9pm. I will not be recording any homework after 9pm.
A student must receive O on both behavior and work habits grade to receive an award. Our 2nd Trimester Awards Ceremony will be held in the church on Friday, 3/11 after Mass.
Work habits grade includes the following:
- Homework
- Classwork
- Projects
- Attendance
- Class participation
- Daily school materials (homework folder, iPad, etc.)
- Following classroom routines
- Test
- ST Math goal
