Dear Students, Parents/Guardians,
Congratulations to our Kindergarten class for making it through their first week of school!
As a reminder, Kindergarten will continue to have 12 NOON dismissal as they enter their 2nd week. All K-8 students must be in full uniform starting today. For Grades 1-8, dismissal this week is at 3pm daily, except 1:30pm on Wednesday. Daycare is offered from 12-6pm for Kinder students this week with Ms. Pattie Padilla.
Last Thursday, 9/8, was Our Blessed Mother Mary’s birthday. Grades 3-8 attended Mass and then the whole school joined together to pray the rosary in the church. Student government used their funds from their popsicle sales to purchase cupcakes for all the students at the end of the day. On Friday, 9/9, Msgr. Sal blessed our newly renovated school after the 8am Mass and then blessed the soccer field, office, and each classroom with holy water.
Our PLC Leads met last week with PLC Chair Angelic Nunez-Scott, and on 9/28, Lorena Lakey will host a Room Parent meeting on Zoom. Stay tuned for the link! You will be discussing the upcoming Trunk or Treat event and class mandatory bake sales. Please sign up for the PLCs you would like to serve on (see Angelic Nunez Scott’s Google form) and begin earning your 10 service hours for the first trimester. Each family must serve 30 hours a year or donate items the school needs at a value of $15/hr.
Our Gently Used Uniform Sale is today and tomorrow 9/12 and 9/13, before and after school. Thank you Patty Dungo, our lead for these sales! Catechetical Sunday is on 9/18. We look forward to seeing you all at the 11am Monthly Family Mass that day. Students who wear their formal Mass uniforms to Mass that day will earn a free dress pass. Take a photo of your child in full uniform by the church and email your teacher after checking in with a staff member that day.
9/21 is our Back to School Night in person in the Hall at 6:30pm. Teachers will host 2 identical 15-minutes sessions in their classroom after our General Parent Meeting. Please find a sitter for your children if possible. Daycare may be available for $5 per child (school children only). More information is forthcoming from your teachers. Vicki Marsha Uniform will be on campus that day in Rm 6, and we will also be passing out chocolates for our Fall Candy Sale that week in Rm 5. Stay tuned for more details.
