Hello again, 6th grade Families!
I just wanted to clarify that Parent-Teacher Conferences this week will be IN-PERSON. We will meet in the 6th grade classroom (Room 11). The junior high students should be present at the conference with you. The discussion we will have is very important to their success this year.
*Note – Please be on time. If you are running 10min late, we will need to reschedule your conference for a different day because we do need to stay on schedule out of consideration for all the families.
If you are wondering how to access your child’s grades and missing work, please do the following:
- For GRADES and MISSING WORK: Email Mrs. Ray for Gradelink Login. Your child should have received this already, but she can send it to you again if needed.
- For MISSING WORK, UPCOMING ASSIGNMENTS, and DUE DATES: Add GoogleClassroom to your phone or log in on your laptop. You will need your child’s Google email account + password. Once you log in, you can tap on the “To-Do List” and go to “Missing” for all assignments that were not turned in.
If a student submits an assignment in Google Classroom but there is no attachment, we cannot give credit for work that was not completed. The student will receive a verbal warning and reminder to attach his/her work (late penalty will apply). The second time this happens, it will automatically be a Conduct Warning for Behavior because they are expected to make sure their work is complete, attached, and submitted on time.
Please be aware that sometimes we give out worksheets or hard copy packets that are not posted in Google Classroom. It is the student’s responsibility to copy all Homework assignments from each teacher into the Student Planner before leaving class.
There are also times when a teacher will post an assignment in Google Classroom but it will be collected in class. If you have any questions, please ask your child first, then clarify with the teacher.
I do post ELA Homework for the week on our Sixth Grade Blog (http://www.stanthonygardena.org/sixth-grade/), but it should still be written down so that the students know what books and materials they need to take home for the day.
Thank you and we will see you soon!
Blessings,
Mrs. Dyogi
