Kindergarten Families,
Happy Monday! Please read all the information in this email as there are a lot of events coming up in the next two weeks.
Today, we learned Andy Apple’s song, discussed our Five Senses, explored with Jiji and learned about the Bengal Tiger and Quokka. I introduced our four animal rotation groups where we practiced sight words, the letter /a/ sound, handwriting and interacted with our friends on the rug making puzzles/patterns and building with legos and blocks.
Internet Safety
This month we experienced Media Balance and what it means to be Digital Citizens. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles Empowering God’s Children and Young People Safety Program will be on Friday, October 28th. Please sign and return the permission slip sent home via the green folder today by 10/28.
Halloween Costumes
To ensure all costumes follow our School’s Halloween costume guidelines, please email me by October 28th what costume your child is planning on wearing on October 31st.
Costumes must be appropriate and pre-approved, or a student may be sent home to change.
- Costumes should be child-friendly. No inflatables, no gory or scary clowns, no devils, or scary costumes
- Costumes Should Not:
- Be obstructive, offensive, inappropriate for a Catholic school (skimpy or revealing), gory, evil, or violent.
- Drag on the ground.
- Contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another person.
- Contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.E
- Encourage cross-dressing. Boys dress up like boys and girls dress up like girls.
Students must be able to sit down in their seats and should come to school already dressed in their costumes. Please be sure your child is able to use the restroom unassisted. I recommend students wear their PE uniform under their costume in case they want to change later in the day.
Masks may be worn for the parade only, but they must not obstruct vision and eyes must be visible at all times. Masks will be taken off after the parade and picture taking.
Saint Puppet and Video due November 1st
As a gentle reminder, your child’s Saint puppet and video upload is due on November 1st. This project was assigned October 4th on the Seesaw app.
All Saint’s Day, November 1st
Students may come to school dressed up as ANY Saint. Costumes do not need to be elaborate. Students will process in Mass with the school in their costumes. Costumes should go over your child’s school uniform as we will be changing in the classroom after Mass. This will be part of their Religion grade.
