Hello Families!
I just wanted to give everyone a huge, big, ginormous THANK YOU! Going on retreat least weekend, Mr. Zahn and I received an incredible amount of beautiful letters from the kids at SAP, the staff and even from some parents! They just made my heart melt! I have absolutely loved being your children’s third grade teacher, and the St. Anthony community has been so warm and welcoming, truly a gift from God. And on top of all those sweet letters, that gift basket was a huge surprise! Thank you all for the blankets, sweet and healthy treats, the tea, the super helpful gift cards, the mug, the blender, (sorry if I’m missing anything else!) Q&A
Question: Does homework change from the agenda? How should we as parents know if it changes?
Answer: I give the agenda as a quick look at the week ahead (it is also available on the third grade website). My goal first and foremost is to assure that the students understand the material. If they are particularly struggling with material or if we do not have time to get to it in class, I will sometimes change or postpone an assignment and let the class know before they go home that the homework is changing. Please check google classroom every day, it is where I post the homework. If the kids have questions, they can ask there as well.
Question: How is behavior graded?
Answer: I want the kids to be motivated and self-monitoring their behavior. I clip up for preparedness, good team work, active listening, and acts of kindness. If a student is talking during instruction, using put downs, or showing disruptive behavior, I will clip them down. They all start at Green and have to clip up to Blue to get full points for the day.
Can’t wait to start our witching week!
Peace and joy,
Ms. Sardina
