Dear first-grade families,
Hoping that everyone is doing well! Here is all the information you and your child will need for the week of 2/6-2/10. I ask everyone to please read all the information I post or email and the attachments. I am being asked questions covered in detail by the email and posts I have put out.
If you miss any emails, you can check out my school blog: http://www.stanthonygardena.org/first-grade/.
Snacks
Parents, please send your child a healthy snack every day. Please do not send your child candy, chocolates, soda, or other sugary drinks. (Fruit by the foot, candies, m&ms, lollipops, snickers, etc.) We are still seeing students eating very sugary snacks.
Progress Reports
On Wednesday, February 8th, I will be sending your child’s progress reports and STAR test results. With that being said, any missing/incomplete homework will reflect on your child’s grades. Please check Gradelink if your child is missing any homework and reach out to me directly if you have any concerns or questions. Please keep in mind that the progress report is just a snapshot of where your child is at right now. Final Grades will be given at the end of the 2nd trimester.

100th day project- EXTENDED TO January 9th
Last Friday, 1/13, I have sent out the instructions for our project for this month. I have included examples from the previous students as well.
On February 9th, 2023, Thursday, we will be celebrating the 100th day of school. We will be celebrating with many “100” activities throughout the day.
For our first-grade project this month, your child will be creating a “100” collage to share with the class. This is an opportunity for families to work together and be as creative as they can be by making a collage to display 100 items.
Directions:
- Brainstorm ideas with your child. Google and Pinterest have lots of ideas, or see the attached examples below.
- Gather 100 items to create your design on the collage. Use a 22x28in poster or foam board as a base.
- When creating your collage, please securely fasten all objects. I recommend using lightweight items and hot glue.
- With your help, have your child create their own design.
- Students will bring their projects on Thursday, Feb 9th to school.
Uniform
Parents, please refer to our handbook for details about the uniform to avoid uniform infractions, I will be giving out uniform infractions to those students that are not wearing the correct or proper uniform. Girls can’t have nail polish and boys’ shirts MUST always be tucked in their pants.
MON, TUES, THURS- Complete regular uniform
WED- Complete PE uniform
FRI- Complete formal mass uniform
