Good afternoon parents,
I hope everything is well. Below are additional announcements for this week
Progress Reports
I will be sending out your child’s progress reports & STAR test results in your child’s homework folder. There will be 2 copies of progress reports, one has to be signed and returned to me by Friday and one is for your own copy. Please keep in mind that the progress report is just a snapshot of where your child is at right now. Final Grades will be given at the end of the 2nd trimester.
Boys’ bathroom incident
Today, some of our 1st grade boys were seen playing in the bathroom. This was not the 1st time this happened. We’ve been reminding students EVERYDAY of our bathroom rules. I had a long discussion with the whole class about this incident. I will greatly appreciate it if you can discuss this at home. Students are always reminded that we don’t play in the bathroom, we only do what we need to do then we walk out.
Mutual Respect
Please help me remind our students to use kind words and acts when interacting with each other. We are doing our best teaching our students mutual respect every day. Lately, we’ve been hearing students saying words that are very hurtful to other students. Students are also reminded to keep their whole body to themselves and stay in their personal space. We will continue to review our Tribes Agreements as we work our way through our school year. Please continue to encourage your children to follow these agreements even at home. The Tribes Agreements are:
- Mutual Respect
- Attentive Listening
- Appreciations/No Putdowns
- Right to Pass
- Personal Best
Morning
Students are asked to sit on the blue bench in the morning while waiting for the morning bell. Students shouldn’t be running and playing. We only have 1 teacher on duty in the morning and it’s difficult to watch all students when they’re all over the place and running around. Students running and playing might result to an accident. Once again, please remind your child to wait and sit on the blue bench while waiting for the morning bell.
100th day project & dress up
Tomorrow is our 100th day of school and the deadline for our 100th day project board. Students may dress up as a 100-year-old. We will be parading and show off our projects around the school in the morning.
Please let me know if you have any questions and concerns.
God bless,
Ms. Nicole Martinez
