Hello Third Grade Families,
Friday was a good day to celebrate all the hard work students have put in throughout the second trimester. One trimester left for them to give it all they’ve got for Third Grade!
While I was out, I heard disheartening news that there were some students being rude and talking back to the substitute teacher on Friday. I am disappointed to hear about this behavior and we will be going over norms and classroom expectations on Monday. I have seen the students growing and maturing so much this year, scholastically and emotionally. As they are kids, sometimes they need to be reminded of what is acceptable behavior for the kind of learning environment we hope to foster and they kind of responsible citizens they should be. Please remind your children to always be respectful and show kindness no matter the circumstance.
On Monday, we will also be redoing the spelling bee as there were some discrepancies with the proctoring in order to determine the two students who will represent 3rd grade in our school spelling bee.
Last announcement: on Thursday is our field trip to see Shrek. If you have not signed the permission slip on Google classroom, please upload a signed copy no later than Tuesday. The kids will be going after break 10:30 and returning back to school at 1:30 for a late lunch.
As usual, the agenda is posted here. God bless you and your families!
Peace be with you,
Ms. Sardina
