Dear first-grade families,
I hope you everyone is doing well! Here is all the information you and your child will need for the week of 5/15-5/19. I ask everyone to please read all the information I post or email and the attachments. I am being asked questions covered in detail by the email and posts I have put out.

STAR TESTING
On Tuesday, our first grade will be taking their 3rd and final STAR test. This test will measure their knowledge from the 1st-3rd trimester. Please make sure that your child had enough sleep and healthy breakfast before coming to school. Students will be using our school iPad to do the test. It is recommended for students to wear headphones to avoid distraction. If your child has headphones that is compatible to an iPad, please make sure to bring it to school.
NOON DISMISSAL
It’s Fiesta time! This week, Monday to Wednesday 5/15-5/17, we have early dismissal at 12 noon. We will be offering daycare the first two days. On Monday, daycare is until 6pm. On Tuesday daycare is until 3pm, and on Wednesday there is NO DAYCARE. Our Fiesta is Friday-Sunday May 19-21.
STUDENT FREE DAYS
Due to the Fiesta setup, there are Student Free Days (no school for students) on 5/18, 5/19 and 5/22. Ride tickets, raffle tickets, and wristband tickets are on sale in the school office all week. The top sellers of the raffle tickets can win a cash prize from Rose Moore for $100. Whoever wins the raffle can get up to $5000!
Culture Project- due on June 2nd
Directions: With help from a parent, students will:
- Student will complete the attached report sheet. (Where the family’s from, language spoken, draw and color the national dish, flag and the traditional clothing)
- Using the stencil, cut out and dress up your puppet with the traditional clothing of your culture.
- Glue/Attach the puppet on the back of the report sheet.
- Place the project inside the Ziploc with your number.
- Return this attached rubric sheet with your project for full credit! (+ 3pts)
