Good Afternoon Kindergarten Families,
Hip hip hooray, congratulations on completing our first day! Thank you for entrusting Ms. Gomez (our morning aide) and I with your children. We enjoyed getting to know each and every one of them.
We sang songs, listened to stories, practiced routines, wrote our name, drew pictures and made our First Day of Kindergarten crowns. Ask your child if they remember Salamander and AlphaFriends!
I know we are going to have a great year. Again parents, please read my emails carefully to avoid questions that are clearly stated in all my reminders.
Pick Up and Drop Off
Only Kinder and 1st grade parents CAN park in the small lot and use the crosswalks to walk to the classrooms and drop off their children. You may NOT park in the carline and pick up your child. Parking in the carline to pick up your child, will affect the 2-8 grade pick up and it will cause traffic as well. You may also use the front gate in 163rd.Please parents avoid lingering or congregating along the breezeway or in front of our K-2 classrooms in the morning or during dismissal. It is difficult to manage students when its crowded.
Green Folders
Today your child was sent home with a green folder. Daily, this folder will be sent home and needs to be returned the next morning in the blue crate on the blue bench just outside the Kindergarten door.
If you did not hand me the summer assignment, please put it in the front pocket of the green folder. Typically, we do not check student backpacks.
We will use the front pocket of the green folder to send forms and notes home and the back pocket for completed work for you to keep. Please return signed forms in the front pocket.
Please keep the reference materials in the plastic inserts.
Starting in September, homework will be posted on the Seesaw app (log in information can be found in your child’s folder). Feel free to have your child log in to Seesaw and practice with the Introduction to Seesaw activity.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. E-mail is the best way to get in touch with me.
I feel so blessed to be your child’s teacher this year.
God Bless!
Warmly,Mrs. McCabe
