Dear SAP School Families,
We continue to celebrate October as the Month of the Rosary. October 7 was the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. We encourage you all to pray the rosary daily with your families for many graces from our Blessed Mother. Thank you to all on the Interior Maintenance PLC, who helped us clean the school this weekend.
Red Ribbon Week is coming up October 23-31, where we promote Drug Abuse Prevention. Be on the lookout for activities from your child’s teachers and from Student Government.
Parent-teacher conferences were successful last week. Please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you want a longer follow up meeting re: your child. In keeping with our policy of chain of command, we ask that you always bring concerns to the teacher first. There is no issue that cannot be resolved swiftly with open, honest, and respectful communication. Thank you for working in partnership with us!
For our Fall Chocolate Fundraiser, we will continue to sell boxes of chocolates this week so that your child can participate in the Magic Show on 11/9. Lunch will also be provided by Alvarado Catering on 11/9, for all those who sold one or more boxes above the minimum requirement of 4 boxes. If your family sold over the minimum, all your children attending SAP can participate in the 11/9 Magic Show in the Hall. The final day of the Fall Chocolate Sale is this Friday, 10/13. All fall fundraiser monies are due by 10/27, or you will be invoiced.
Please welcome our newest substitute teacher: Patricia Alejandre, who will be subbing for us this year. She and Mandi Thomas are the newest additions to our SAP School substitute list.
Finally, a friendly reminder to all families: Please do NOT drop off your children before 7:30am. There is no one out on duty until 7:30, so before then, there is no guaranteed supervision for your child, and the gates are opened.
Thank you and God bless,
Angela Grey, Principal
Gabriel Reyes, Co-Principal

If you have questions, please email the office. We will email other service hour opportunities.
VOLUNTEERS
All visitors on campus must check in and out of the office at all times and wear a VISITOR badge. All Volunteers must be Fingerprinted through the ADLA and cleared, and have a current Virtus Training Certificate. AM and PM carline and lunch yard duty volunteers (from 12-1 daily) are needed. Please email me at agrey@stanthonygardena.org if you are interested. For safety reasons, please call before you come to the office and buzz yourself in. Do not prop the door open for anyone, especially strangers. All parents are welcome to join the SAFETY PLC to increase security on our campus.
HFO (Hands, Feet, and Objects) to Self
Safety is first and foremost. Please remind your child to keep their hands, feet, and all objects to themselves. They can stay in their bubbles and personal space so they stay safe and keep others safe as well. Please teach them at home about “air hugs” and “air high-fives” so they don’t actually make contact with others. We are seeing too many injuries and too many accidental touching among students that lead to more serious issues. That said, if a student receives multiple verbal warnings about this, it could result in a conduct slip or detention. In more serious issues or repeat offenses, a referral or suspension. Please remind your children about the importance of self-control. Also, for all grade levels, there is NO SLIDING on the soccer field (see email from Mr. Reyes).
INTERIOR MAINTENANCE PLC and SERVICE HOUR BUYOUT
Please sign up for the Interior Maintenance PLC for service hours that can be earned on certain Saturdays from 12:30-3:30 p.m. You can also donate Scrip at the front office for school expenses. You may buy out your service hours for $15/hour for Scrip such as Home Depot, Office Depot, Target, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, and Starbucks.
