Hello Third Grade Families!
Wow, what a busy week we had last week! During Halloween, the kids got to show off their costumes in a parade, do games and activities then receive candy from the amazing Trunk-or-treat cars! I don’t mean to sound (pop)corny but the carnival and planetarium cars were stellar and out of this world, but when the kids saw the Pac-Man car, it was game over! My favorite part of the week was seeing the kiddos beautifully adorned in their saints’ costumes. It was just another poignant reminder that they are saints in training! On Friday we had the very special treat of Mr. and Mrs. Acosta leading an art lesson for Meet the Masters.
Looking Forward:
We are embarking on Stone Soup this week and next week! The children will read different versions of the novel, and write paragraph summaries and comparisons, and it will culminate in a class Thanksgiving party next week 11/16. Each student will be responsible for bringing at least one ingredient to contribute to the soup and will sign up this Thursday.
End of the Trimester on Friday!
Kiddos should be at 100% in AR and 34% ST Math
They have been working so hard, and I am so proud of them! Great job parents in supporting your child’s education.
No School this Friday 11/10th
Reminders:
Please have your children bring a water bottle to school, some are asking if they can leave in the middle of class to get water from downstairs, and I do not want them to miss out on important instructions or work time.
Tutoring on Tuesdays is specifically for reading comprehension or making up tests and quizzes and Thursday is for general help. Unless I have emailed you about your child coming in for reading comprehension help, please do not send your child on Tuesday. Please let me know if you would like your child to go to tutoring on Thursday, so I know and the daycare knows who is where.
God bless!
Ms. Sardina
