Here is all the information that you and your child will need for this week, 1/8-1/12. Please take a moment to read through this week’s updates to avoid questions that are clearly stated in this email.

Please make sure to follow the daily assignment on our weekly homework list that will be sent on Monday. Kindly sign the homework list and your child’s behavior chart daily

TESTS
Students will be tested weekly on Word Study/Phonics & Fluency/Sight Words every Friday. Parents can help their child by reviewing the topics we learned for that week.

Christmas book report due on JANUARY 8, 2024
This project will be part of their work habits, art, writing and reading grade. Please make sure to follow the given instructions. Packet, instructions, template & materials were sent out Friday, December 8, 2023.
For this book report your child will be expected to read a holiday book and complete the given Santa book report template.
Materials Needed:
1. Scissors
2. Glue
3. Crayons/ Colored pencils
4. Holiday book to read.
Instructions:
1. Select a Christmas/Holidaybook to read.
2. Neatly fill out your name, title, author, illustrator, setting, problem and solution of the book. (You might want to do a first draft before you complete the Santa.)
3. Color, cut, and glue Santa together.
Due date: January 8, 2024
Tuesday- Jan.9- Ocean Institute fieldtrip
We will have our 3rd educational trip on Jan. 9th to Ocean Institute in Dana Point
What to wear: Complete Regular School Uniform (if your child is bringing a sweater or jacket, it must be a school jacket/sweater with our school logo) *Students won’t be allowed to take it off during the trip, they must keep it on the whole time*
What to bring: Snacks to eat before we get in and lunch in a Ziploc bag. (All snacks and lunch items must all fit in a gallon size Ziploc, drinks included, please avoid bringing Tupperware)
*The bus will leave at 8:30am and get back around 2:30pm.*
Our chaperones for this day will be Ms. Gabby, Ms. Ruiz, Mrs. Andrade, Mr. Dametta, and Mr. Robledo..Our volunteers will update you through band app.
Free Dress passes
Our school has new free dress passes. The new passes are valid for this school year only and cannot be used next school year. Old free dress passes will only be honored through January 31, 2024

ONLY $21.00 per class (must register for the entire 12 week session)
Come join the EggheadDetective Squadthis session as we dust for prints, decode messages, analyze DNA, and use real forensic science techniques to crack the cases. The best part? Eggheads take everything home at the end of each class! All Eggheads will also get their Detective ID card, authorizing them to use real science to solve mysteries. At the end of the session, every Egghead will get their official Egghead Detective Degree – proving they’re ready and licensed to solve any mystery… using science of course! Wednesdays from 1:45-2:45
K-3 grade students. Minimum of 8 students $252 for the 12 week session – only $21 per class!
EggheadMachine Engineer?! Using LEGO™, students will design and build real mega machines like spinning windmills, lifting cranes, elevators, cars, and way more. We’ll use wheels, bands, gears, pulleys, and tons of other cool specialty Lego pieces to build our Machines, and then after the building phase is complete we’ll put them to the test. That means we’ll try to break ’em, blow them over, and put weight on them. If you pass the test, you pass the challenge. At the end of the session, all students will receive their very own Egghead Engineering Degree! Wednesdays from 3:05-4:05
