Hello Families!
I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! One thing that made my Christmas merry and bright was receiving such thoughtful and kind cards and gifts from you wonderful families! Thank you very much, from the bottom of my heart! I sent out an email about extra credit opportunities in the middle of the break, so make sure your child turns it in before Monday if they want extra points.
This upcoming week, AR Goal: 45% and ST Math: 50% by 1/12.
Kids are given 40 minutes on Monday and Friday in the Library to read and test, but kids can always read at home and be ready to test when they come to school! They are also given time during stations and 30 minutes on Tuesday and Friday to work on ST Math. If they are not at their goal by Friday, please have them work on ST Math at home.
Make-ups for tests and quizzes
If your child has a 70% or lower they can come in to redo their test or quiz after school on Tuesday or Thursday. Please send them with a note so they can easily remember when they come in for after-school help. Tutoring goes until 4:00.
Science ProjectComing back from break, the students will be starting their science projects. Right now, we are learning about Life Cycles, so the kids are tasked with learning how to make a plant grow! They will make a poster board of a plant or animal’s life cycle from birth to death. Details and instructions will be passed out tomorrow. Life Cycle Project due in three weeks on Thursday 1/25.
Extra Credit Opportunities from break
On Google Classroom, I have included math worksheets they can fill out. One sheet is 1 point extra credit up to 5 points (I have 6 sheets if you want to choose or do extra), and you can post on Google Classroom. For reading, if they take a video reading a small book or chapter to you or a sibling, and upload it to Google Classroom they can get 5 points in extra credit.
Extra credit is due Monday, let me know if your child would like an extension.
