Dear First Grade Families,

I hope everything is well with you and your family. Here is all the information that you and your child will need for this week, 2/19-2/23.

President’s Day- Monday, 2/19

No school

Missing Assignments

All missing or incomplete assignments are due before Feb 28^th. All missing assignment list were sent out. Please check gradelink regularly for a more updated information regarding your child’s grades.

Class Spelling Bee on Wednesday, Feb. 21

Spelling word lists were sent out. Please take time to review these words with your child. We will have our 1^st grade class spelling bee on Feb 21^st.  I encourage all of the students to participate.

 The 2 spellers of our class spelling bee will be our representative for the finals on Feb 28^th.  There will be great prizes for the winners!

Homework & Test:

Please refer to the homework list in your child’s homework folder.

Glory Be prayer -Oral test on Feb. 23.

Important dates:  

• Class Spelling Bee on Wednesday, Feb 21^st 
• The SCHOOLWIDE Spelling Bee, Feb. 28^th
• 5^th grade Lenten Project- due on February 29^th

Our goal is to collect 100 of this item:
1^st grade- baby wipes

• Black History Month Project- due on March 8^th (instructions & template sent)

Invitation to Read Across America Parent Volunteers

I am excited to celebrate Read Across America with our first-grade students, and I would love to invite parents to participate as volunteers on the week of Feb. 26th- March 2nd from 8:00-8:30/ 10:15-10:45.

I am looking for enthusiastic parents who would be willing to spend some time reading a book or engaging in a book art activity with our first-grade students. Your involvement will not only enhance the learning experience for the children but also contribute to fostering a love for reading and creativity.

If you are available and interested in participating, please reply to this email with your preferred date and time.

• February 20-23: Re-Registration Week for returning students (all online) 
• February 23 – Lion King field trip to Segerstrom that evening, Fish Fry/Stations of the Cross in the Hall
• February 23 – Yearbook Pre-Sale ends 
• February 28 – All School Spelling Bee 10:30-12 in Hall
• March 7 – Talent Show K-8 at 1pm in Hall
• March 29-April 5– Easter Break
• May 1-30 – Hundred X EFG fundraiser for $20,000 $1.60 for each quality brand opinion 
• May 13 – May Crowning, and culmination of All School Marian Consecration (starts 4/10)
• May 17-19 – Parish Fiesta
