Dear First Grade Families,
I hope this email finds you well. I want to keep you informed about important updates that you and your child will need for this week, 3/11-3/15. Here’s a brief overview:
Bullying
It has come to my attention regarding the use of the word “bullying” among the students. Some students may not fully comprehend the gravity of this term.
As you know, bullying extends beyond simple disagreements or occasional conflicts. It involves repetitive and intentional physical, verbal, or emotional harm inflicted on someone.
To ensure our students understand the true meaning of this word, I plan to discuss it with the entire class again. We talked about this in the beginning of the school year.
Your support in reinforcing the significance of the term at home would be greatly appreciated.
Boys’ Haircut
Friendly reminder about our school’s hair policy for boys: Haircuts should be no shorter than a #3 cut, ensuring it doesn’t touch the collar. Avoid extreme styles, over-the-ear cuts, hair coloring, mohawks, or designs. Ensure eyes and ears are visible. Let’s keep our students looking presentable, neatly groomed, and clean.
Missed Test
If your child has missed the Friday tests, please schedule a make-up session within the week of their return. Monday is preferable or Thursday if we’re out on Monday. All missed tests will be done after school at 3:15-3:30pm. Additionally, kindly provide the necessary documentation (doctor’s note) for your child to take the make-up test.
Monday, Mar. 11- NO SCHOOL STUDENT FREE DAY (NO SCHOOL or DAYCARE)
The school faculty and staff will attend a Lenten Retreat with Msgr. Sal. All families are invited to join us on Monday, March 11th, at 11:15 am at Galleria mall for a special viewing of the Cabrini film. Please note that the movie is rated PG-13.
For students under the age of 13, parental awareness is crucial. We recommend that an adult accompanies all minors during the screening. The reviews are wonderful, and this movie is based on the life of St. Frances Cabrini, an American saint.
Math Test
Our Go Math chapter 8 test will be on Tuesday, 3/12. You may help your child by reviewing the chapter review test sent home last Thursday.
Wednesday, March 13
St. Patrick’s Day!Students may come to school in green tops and Jeans.
