Dear First Grade Families,
I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the lovely birthday wishes and gifts you all showered me with. Your kindness and thoughtfulness truly made my day special, and I feel incredibly grateful and loved.
Thank you for taking the time to remember me on my birthday. Your gestures mean a lot to me, and I am deeply touched by your generosity.
Below are some updates regarding our class for this week, 4/15-4/19. Here’s a brief overview:
Nonfiction Cereal Box Project
This project will be due on April 15th 2024. Instructions and template were sent March 15th. Please make sure to follow instructions to receive full credit.
First Grade Bake Sale
Please take a moment to get your calendars out so that you can register for our 1st grade Bake Sale which will take place Sunday, April 14th (This bake sale will be in partnership with our 5th Grade Parents.)
- Every SAP Family is required to participate in 1 bake sale per child (*If you have 2 or more children you will need to attend a total of 2 bake sales)
- Parents must show up for their assigned slot on time. (*Arriving late or missing your shift could result in an automatic $50 fee.)
- If parents show up 5-10 minutes late, they will need to coordinate with Lead Room Parents to stay that same amount of time after their assignment slot has ended to get full credit.
- Parents cannot attend mass during their shift and/or bring any children with them so we kindly ask that you make other arrangements.
- Participation in Bake Sales is an expectation of all SAP Families, which is separate from the expected community service volunteer hours.
Our first grade room parents shared more information regarding bake sale on the 1st grade BAND app. Please check outthe sign-up links they sent to everyone.
Pretend City, Irvine field trip- Thurs. April 18th
Our last field trip will be on Thursday, April 18th. Please note the following important information
What to wear: complete regular uniform
What to bring: disposable water bottles.
What’s for lunch: All 1st grade students will have pizza for lunch. We have 1st grade funds to cover for our meals for this day.
If you prefer to pack lunch for your child, please let me know so we can plan ahead. All lunch must be disposable.
I advise all students to eat heavy breakfast on this day, we won’t have enough time to eat snacks. If time allows, we will eat snacks on the bus. I am asking for some individually packed snack donations such as the following.
- Fruit snacks
- Cookies
If you have any other healthy snack donations, we would greatly appreciate it.
Friday, April 19th
I will be absent from school on Friday, April 19th as I will be attending a Teacher Conference in San Diego. During my absence, Ms. Alejandre will be substituting for me.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this absence or any class-related matters, please feel free to reach out to me. I will do my best to respond as soon as possible.
