Week 30

Hello Families!

Hallelujia Christ is Risen!! The 8th graders put on stations of the cross the Friday for the whole school before we left, and it was beautiful to see the children’s faith! (video attached below) 

I hope this email finds you rejuvenated and joyful after the Easter break! We are gearing up for the end of the year as this is the last trimester, so a few important announcements of what to expect moving forward.

All School Mass, Monday, April 8th – FORMAL MASS UNIFORM
Our All-School mass will be on April 8th, the Feast of the Annunciation. Students wear formal mass uniforms THIS MONDAY.

Measuring Fun on Tuesday!

On Tuesday we will start measuring objects. Please have your kiddo bring in a ruler and a random household object that can fit in a gallon bag. Example: celery, a little sibling’s shoe, binder clip, mini-spatula… something fun but not breakable.

Lemonade War

Next week, 4/15 we are starting our novel reading of The Lemonade War. I will provide the children with copies to share, but I encourage you to buy the book if you can for your child to have for themselves and take home. There will be a bit of a change in homework turn-in as the kids begin to create Novel Study folders! 

Each week, students will hole-punch their vocabulary and spelling, keeping their work and turning it in IN-CLASS EVERY FRIDAY until we finish the project on 5/30. As it is returned, please check to see if they have missing work. Each week, they will write chapter summaries and use their book vocabulary for the weekly spelling and vocabulary tests. 
Professor Egghead Announcement
Have you registered your child for Professor Egghead Spring Session? 
In order for the SPRING Session to begin April 17, 2024, each class needs a minimum of 8 students.

EGGHEAD INVENTORS currently 4 students enrolled NEED 4 more for class to be held
Your child will learn the science behind becoming real-life inventors as they experiment with Helicopters,
Hovercraft, Catapults and Rockets.
They will get to take their inventions home!
Class will begin Wednesday, April 17 through June 5, 2024 from 1:45-2:45pm
Cost is only $147 ($21 per class) for 7 weeks

LEGO Engineering-Ancient Wonders currently 4 students enrolled NEED 2 more for class to be held
Your child will build Ancient creations like an Aqueduct, Huge Dam, Wells, and Coliseums.
Then test them to see how their “wonders” handle certain tests.
Class will begin Wednesday, April 17 through June 5, 2024 from 3:05-4:05pm
Cost is only $147 ($21 per class) for 7 weeks

May 1-30 – Hundred X EFG fundraiser for $20,000 $1.60 for each quality brand opinion 
May 13 – May Crowning, and culmination of All School Marian Consecration (starts 4/10)
May 17-19 – Parish Fiesta
