Dear SAP School Families,
I hope you had a blessed and restful Memorial Day weekend with your families! Thank you to all who so courageously gave their lives serving our country, giving the ultimate sacrifice of their lives for our freedoms. This Sunday was Trinity Sunday. We ask the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to be with us always as we do the work here on earth bringing the Kingdom of God to all we meet.
Our school Musical Theater will be presenting Beauty and the Beast this week starting on Thursday, May 30, May 31, and June 1. Buy your tickets today before they sell out! Many thanks to Mrs. Garcia and Ms. Sardina, and all the parents of our theater students who have been working tirelessly to prepare for the 4 upcoming performances. Our small class musical shows are also tomorrow and Thursday in the hall! Please see emails from Mrs. Jessica Garcia for more specific information for each class in grades K-5..
Our Hundred X Spring fundraiser ends this week! Last week we did extremely well, and we are close to reaching our new goal of $30,000! I challenge all classes to have everyone who has ALREADY signed up to do 5-10 surveys a day. I’m excited to announce Top 3 classes who will win the pizza and ice cream parties! I will continue to send updates as I receive them. This is an easy way to raise money, and it doesn’t cost us a cent. If you do not participate in Hundred X, you will be billed $100, as it takes the place of the Jog-A-Thon Fundraiser on the tuition contract.
Our New Parent Orientation was held on May 23. We welcome ALL our new families! For those current families who plan to re-register for next year and haven’t yet done so, please note our classes are filling up fast and your child may be automatically waitlisted.
As a reminder, Parent Service hours are due this Friday on 5/31. Your 30 service hours are split into 3 trimesters. Your last 10 hours are due by this week. Your Fiesta hours have been waived due to the cancellation, so you will NOT be charged the $200 fee for the 8 hours on the contract. However, if you have not yet done 10 hours, a great way to do it is to get 10 Superstars for the Hundred X fundraiser so you can earn 1 hours for each Superstar (up to 10 hours). Check with the office and keep up with current events (via email and online) to make sure you complete or buy out your service hours at $17/hr.
June 4 is our Gently Used Uniform Sale. Please donate clean uniforms that you no longer use or that your children have outgrown. We appreciate your support! Crossover Day is on June 5 at 10:20am for grades K-7. Summer packets and supply lists will be passed out at that time, and students can meet their new teachers for next year.
Don’t forget to purchase your yearbooks for $45. Reserve your hardcover Yearbook now by sending a check made payable to the School with an order form.
STAR Window 3 ends on Tuesday, May 28. We also have our Lemonade War for our 3rd graders. Please support their fundraiser!
Finally, Congratulations to our brand new Student Government, who was announced after the campaigns and voting last week! We are so proud of all our student leaders who had the courage to run for office. It is gratifying to see so many students aim for leadership roles in our school. This Friday, 5/31 is a 12 Noon Dismissal before the evening play in the Hall, and we will have our Student Government Inauguration this Friday after 8am Mass.
Our 8th graders have 2 more weeks before graduation! As we near the last few exciting weeks of school, we pray for a safe and peaceful rest of the year for everyone.
Blessings,
Angela Grey, Principal
Mr. Reyes, Co-Principal

KEEPING HANDS TO SELF, PERSONAL SPACE
Students have been reminded multiple times by me and their teachers all year that they need to keep their hands, feet, and all objects to themselves. If students are touching each other in any way, it could lead to detention or a referral. Please see the handbook progressive discipline sheet. Remind your kids to keep their hand to themselves and stay in their bubble/personal space at all times. This is becoming a safety issue.
CELL PHONES NOT ALLOWED, SOCIAL MEDIA NOT A GOOD IDEA
Parents, please note that NO student in our K-8 school needs a cell phone. We have landlines available for their use. If a child is seen using their cell phone on campus it will be confiscated and will result in a referral on the progressive discipline chart. Your child’s use of devices should be limited at home (the doctor recommendation is 2 hours a day) and should only be used with direct supervision by a trusted adult. Do not let your child sleep with a device. Access to social media is NOT a good idea. Please monitor your child’s use at home. If their behavior online violates our Acceptable Use Policy, there will be serious consequences. NO EXCEPTIONS.
RE-REGISTRATION
It is imperative for parents of returning students to complete the Registration process ASAP. We are in open enrollment and if you have not registered, your child will be waitlisted. Should you have any questions, please contact me via email at agrey@stanthonygardena.org.
SCHOOL DONATIONS AND SERVICE HOURS
For families looking to pay off their service hour commitment, our school gives the option to buy Scrip/gift cards and donate them to SAP. We buy a lot of materials and supplies from Office Depot, Walmart/Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Starbucks, and Target for much needed supplies, so if you buy Scrip valued at $15/hour and donate it to the school to offset costs, we will credit your service hour account. We are always in need of Yard Duty, Daycare, and Traffic PLC volunteers.
RALPH’S AND FOOD 4 LESS COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM
Just a reminder that our school is a member of the Community Rewards Programs for both Ralphs and Food 4 Less stores. For the Ralphs & the Food 4 Less Programs, you can opt in for the Community Rewards Program using your Ralphs or Food 4 Less Club Card. Please note that there is a different enrollment code for each of these stores. It is very important that you register the cards as soon as possible prior to the next time you use them, or the school will not receive benefits. Then please have the cashier scan the card or enter your ALT ID every time you make a purchase at Ralphs or Food 4 Less and we will receive a small percentage of each sale! We invite any parents or guardians who shop at Food 4 Less or Ralphs, even occasionally, to consider enrolling as this is an easy way to benefit the school without it costing you anything extra. We thank you in advance for your participation and thoughtfulness!
ON-CAMPUS PRIVATE TOURS AVAILABLE
I have been conducting private tours and scheduling meetings with prospective families this month. If someone you know would like to schedule a tour on campus with me, please contact me at agrey@stanthonygardena.org. Don’t forget our referral incentives! You can earn up to $150 in Scrip or have it credited toward your tuition. Ask the office how!
EARN ONE SERVICE HOUR FROM HOME!
Parents who review our school online on Yelp, Google, AND greatschools.org will earn up to one service hour after you send me your screenshots of all 3 sites as proof: to agrey@stanthonygardena.org.
