Dear First Grade Families,
I hope this email finds you well! As we approach our last full week of the school year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your support and involvement throughout this wonderful year. Your children have grown so much, and it’s been a joy to watch their progress.
Below are some updates regarding our class for this week. Kindly take a moment to read through this week’s updates to avoid questions that are clearly stated on all emails/ reminders. If you miss any emails, you may check out my school blog: http://www.stanthonygardena.org/first-grade/
GRADELINK
Gradelink is blocked for parent access. If you checked your child’s grades before it was blocked, they are all close to final.
MISSING HOMEWORK & PROJECTS
Any missing homework, classwork, projects must be submitted by June 3rd.
Culture Project- due on June 3rd
Directions: With help from a parent, students will:
- Student will complete the attached report sheet. (Where the family’s from, language spoken, draw and color the national dish, flag and the traditional clothing)
- Using the stencil, cut out and dress up your puppet with the traditional clothing of your culture.
- Glue/Attach the puppet on the back of the report sheet.
- Place the project inside the Ziploc with your number.
- Return this attached rubric sheet with your project for full credit!
CROSSOVER DAY- JUNE 5, Wed
Crossover Day will take place on Wednesday, June 5. On this day, students will have the opportunity to meet their 2nd-grade teacher and receive their summer packet and supply lists. Please note that the summer packets will be graded.

CITIZENSHIP
I will send direct emails to all our awardees’ families. A student must have O’s on both behavior and work habits. Most significantly, a student must follow our Tribes Agreement.
Work habits grade includes the following:
• Homework
• Classwork
• Projects
• Attendance
• Class participation
• Daily school materials (homework folder, etc.)
• Following classroom routines
• Following Tribes Agreement (in and out of the classroom)
• Tests
• ST Math goal
Report Cards
Report cards will not be released if you have any pending balances in the office. Please settle these payments with Mr. Aguilar. Lastly, I can’t release report cards early, release day will be on June 13, Thursday.

- June 2 – Family Mass at 11am
- June 4 – Gently Used Uniform Sale
- June 5 – Crossover Day grades K-7 10:20 am (summer projects and supply lists go home)
- June 7 – 8th Grade Mass and Graduation in the Church (8th grade only Noon dismissal), end of 3rd trimester for grades K-7)
- June 10-12– regular school days
- June 13 – 10 am Mass followed by 3rd Trimester Awards Assembly at 11am: 10am School Mass for Feast Day of St. Anthony of Padua (Msgr. Sal’s ordination anniversary), Blessing of bread and lilies, Last day of School Noon Dismissal. Pick up report cards at classroom after Mass, Last day of school, Happy Summer!
- July 8- August 2 – Summer Camp runs 4 weeks (sign up today with Ms. Pattie Padilla)
