Dear Kindergarten Families,
As we enter our last week of school, I wanted to share how grateful I am to have been apart of your child’s Kindergarten Journey. I thank you, for your partnership these last months of school to ensure the success and growth of your Kindergartener! Their love for school, willingness to learn, and eagerness to succeed inspire me in so many ways.
Below is all the information that you and your child will need for our last week, 6/10-6/12. I ask everyone to please read all the information below to avoid questions that are clearly stated on this email.
School Materials
Kindly make sure students bring their backpack daily, we will be sending home their school materials this week.
Homework
No homework for this week.
Attendance
Please note that attendance for this week will still be reflected on your child’s report card.
If you are planning not to bring your child to school for the last few days, kindly let me know in advance. This will allow me to make the necessary adjustments to their attendance records before I print and finalize the report cards on Tuesday.
CITIZENSHIP
I will send direct emails to all our awardees’ families by Tuesday, June 11th. A student must have O’s on both behavior and work habits. Most significantly, a student must follow our Tribes Agreement.
Work habits grade includes the following:
• Homework
• Classwork
• Projects
• Attendance (tardiness and abscences)
• Class participation
• Daily school materials (homework folder, etc.)
• Following classroom routines
• Following Tribes Agreement (in and out of the classroom)
• Tests
• ST Math goal
June 12, Wednesday Kindergarten Promotion
Please refer to the previous Promotion FAQ email, and the attachment to this newsletter for detailed information.
Kindergarten Promotion begins promptly at 8:30am in the Parish Hall.
ALL KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS must arrive school on regular time (7:50am) and participate in our last Morning Assembly on the yard as well as check into the classroom as usual. Please ensure they arrive to school on time, as this affects their promotion routine!
Doors open for the promotion ceremony at 8:15am, students will process into the hall at 8:30am with me, and the class. Those who promote to first grade, will be receiving their Kindergarten certificates, report cards, and awards (if applicable).
STUDENTS DO NOT RETURN TO SCHOOL AFTER, THIS IS THEIR LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! They are dismissed right after the ceremony ends!
Important Dates
- June 10-11– regular school days for grades for Kindergarten
- June 12- Kindergarten Promotion & Kinder’s last day of school!
- July 8- August 2 – Summer Camp runs 4 weeks (sign up today with Ms. Pattie Padilla)
Thank you once again for your continued support and cooperation. It has been such a wonderful time spent with each of you in Kindergarten, and I look forward to celebrating the students’ successes together. I would also like to share, that I will be getting married this week! When school returns back in August, I will no longer be Ms. Calinog — but, Mrs. Garrido!
