First Day of School
On August 20, Welcome Back Meet and Greet Coffee and Donuts will be held in the carline and at the brown benches from 7:30–7:50 am to 7:50 am.
The Tardy Bell rings promptly at 7:50 am, so they must already be in line when the bell rings, not in the car. Please be on time.

Junior High Syllabus
Grades 6-8 students will receive a junior high syllabus with universal policies, school rules, and academic expectations. Additionally, students will be given a syllabus from each teacher: Ms. Garcia (science and religion), Ms. Griggs (math), and myself (ELA and social studies).
Please thoroughly read each syllabus with your child to ensure a good understanding of the school and classroom expectations. Academic policies will vary among subjects.
The acknowledgment form must be submitted as soon as possible so that I can keep my records. This signed portion of the syllabus will also count for their language arts grade.
Junior high students will have a review quiz based on the syllabus on Wednesday.
Summer Packet
Students must complete and submit their summer packet assignments on the first day of school. For ELA and social studies subjects, they will be graded within the first week of school.
Parent Important Forms
On the first day of school, your child will bring home several vital forms that require your attention. These forms need to be read, completed and signed.
Please note: All completed and signed forms are due to the school by Friday, August 23.
To show appreciation for your prompt attention to these forms, students who return all the completed forms by the due date will earn a Free Dress Pass.
Gradelink/Work Policy
Grades will be uploaded a few days a week to maintain consistency throughout the school year. This will help you and your child stay informed of the class’s current status.
If your child is absent for an assignment or exam, the assignment will be marked as a zero until it is completed.
Junior high is universally applying a “no late work” policy. Late work will not be accepted. This aims to enhance each student’s work effort and ethic and give them and their parents an accurate view of their progress. Deadlines will be communicated to students to provide them enough time to complete. This rule helps to instill a sense of responsibility and accountability in the students. Maintaining a fair and consistent grading system to uphold academic integrity is essential.
Enforcing a no-late-work policy helps prepare students for the expectations and rigors of high school and college. Late work is typically not accepted in these higher education settings, so teaching students the importance of meeting deadlines early on can better prepare them for future academic endeavors.
