Monday, 9/2
It’s Labor Day on Monday, no school! Enjoy your 3-day weekend!
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
Wednesday, 9/4, at 6:30pm in the Hall for all parents/guardians. CHILDCARE IS NOT AVAILABLE during the meeting, so please plan to keep your children at home, or they must stay with you at all times. Vicki Marsha Uniform will be on campus that night in Rm 5 from 4:30-6pm. We will have two sessions of information in the classrooms to accommodate those with multiple children: 7pm–7:25 pm and 7:30pm-7:55pm. The meeting ends promptly at 8pm. Non-participation will result in a $50 fine so please send at least one parent to attend this meeting.
Communicating with Ms. Alejandre
As we kick off this school year, I want to emphasize the importance of open and honest communication between us, parents and teachers.
If you ever find that your child is struggling to meet homework deadlines or facing any personal concerns that may affect their academic performance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I understand that life can be unpredictable, and I am here to support your child’s educational journey. Together, we can find solutions to address any challenges they may face.
Additionally, I encourage you to share any comments or feedback you may have about me. Constructive feedback helps me continuously improve my teaching methods and ensures that I provide the best educational experience for your child.
Everyday MUST haves
Every day, students MUST bring the following to school. This is part of their daily school materials.
- Homework folder
- Student Planner
- Fully charged Chromebook & headset
Homework
Every day, your child will write all their homework list in their student planner. This must be signed and returned every day. Use the planner to keep track of your child’s daily assignments and behavior. I recommend following the daily schedule provided, it will help the students manage their activities better.
Bathroom Use During Academic Learning Time
Many students have been requesting to use the restroom multiple times during important parts of our lessons. This has resulted in them and their buddy missing key discussions, which affects their understanding and the overall productivity of our class.
To manage this, I’ve spoken with the students and informed them that if they ask to use the restroom more than three times every week during our lesson discussions, it will result in a clip down and effort slip. Please be assured that I provide restroom breaks during transitions, brain breaks, and before we return to the classroom after recess and lunch. I would greatly appreciate it if you could remind your child to use the restroom during these designated times.
School-Approved Shoe Colors
It’s important for your child to wear shoes that comply with our school’s uniform policy. Specifically, shoes should be in one of the approved colors: navy blue, white, black, or gray. Please ensure that your child wears shoes in the appropriate colors from next week onward.
Beginning next week, I will be issuing uniform infractions for any students who do not adhere to this policy. I appreciate your attention to this matter and your cooperation in helping us maintain our uniform standards.
