Dear First Grade Families,
I hope everyone is doing well! Here’s a look at what’s coming up for the week of October 21-25. Please make sure to read all the important information below to avoid any questions that may already be addressed. If you missed last week’s email, you can find updates on my school blog: http://www.stanthonygardena.org/first-grade/
Deadlines:
- November 15: Saint Plate Project Due
Field Trip:
Thursday, Oct 24th– California Science Center
Student Fee: $12 (Due Oct. 18)
We will have our 1st educational trip on Oct 24th to the California Science Center.
What to wear: Complete Regular School Uniform (I recommend wearing a sweater/jacket. If your child is bringing a sweater or jacket, it must be a school jacket/sweater with our school logo and kindly label it with your child’s name) *Students won’t be allowed to take it off during the trip, they must keep it on the whole time to avoid losing it*
What to bring: Students must pack their own lunch in a disposable brown paper bag/ziploc bag and their own water bottles. We can not leave lunch bags or valuables on the bus. Students can bring their own small backpacks to hold their lunch and water bottles!
*The bus will leave at 9:00am and get back around 2:00pm.*
Our chaperones for this day will be:
1. Ms. Gabby (TA)
2. Brenda Villalobos

5. Eric Vasquez
6. Christina Celis
**Our volunteers will update you through band app.**
Red Ribbon Week – Drug Abuse Prevention
Activities will take place throughout this week in classrooms and through our Student Government to bring awareness to the important issue and to keep our kids safe. Students and teachers may come to school in red tops on 10/23. If you want to wear jeans, Student Government has a fundraiser for $1 to wear jeans to school. Otherwise, students will wear their uniform bottoms on Wednesday, 10/23.
Halloween Costumes:
To ensure that all costumes follow our school’s Halloween guidelines, I ask that you let me know what costume your child plans to wear on October 31. Costumes must be appropriate and pre-approved, or a student may be sent home to change. Please share your child’s costume using the link below:

The school will report truant students to the local public school district’s attendance office or the superintendent.
