I hope everyone is doing well! Here’s a look at what’s coming up for the week of Nov.18 -Nov.22. Please make sure to read all the important information below to avoid any questions that may already be addressed. 2nd Trimester Chapter book
Our second trimester chapter book is, My One and Only Ivan, by Katherine Applegate. It’s a heartwarming story which will be a key part of our reading and discussion over the next few weeks.

Stone Soup
On Monday, we will be reading Stone Soup, a story that teaches the value of teamwork, sharing, and community. To bring the story to life, our class will work together to make our own version of stone soup!
The ingredients we will use are:
- Shredded chicken
- Chicken broth
- onions
- carrots
- celery
- potatoes
- garlic
- salt and pepper
If your child has any allergies to the listed ingredients, please let me know as soon as possible.
3rd Grade Friendsgiving Party
We are excited to celebrate our 3rd Grade Friendsgiving Party! The celebration will include delicious food, fun games, and festive decorations to make the day special for all our students.
To help cover the costs, we kindly ask each family to contribute $10. Please send the payment to the school office by Monday, November 18 If you are sending payment with your child, kindly place it in an envelope labeled with their name, grade, and the words: “3rd Grade Friendsgiving Fund.”
Awards
I have already emailed all families of students receiving an award on Wednesday, Nov 20th. If your child is receiving an award, please check your email for details.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts and dedication of all our 3rd-grade students throughout the 1st trimester. Their hard work is truly commendable!
Please note that the 1st Trimester Awards Assembly will NOT be held in the church. Instead, it will take place in the Hall with the following schedule:
- Grades K-4: Wednesday, November 20, at 8:00 AM in the Hall
- Grades 5-8: Wednesday, November 20, at 9:00 AM in the Hall

- Word Study: Words with vowel sounds (ou, ow).

- November 18 – Poinsettia PRESALE ends for 8th grade fundraiser (pick up on 12/6 after school or 12/8 at 8th grade bake sale at church)
- November 20 – 1st Trimester Awards Ceremony (not in the church), report cards go home K-4 at 8am and grades 5-8 at 9am in Hall (2 sessions)
- November 25-29 – Thanksgiving Holiday
- November 22 – All School Ice Skating Annual Event (8th grade fundraiser)
