Welcome to the Eighth Grade Home Page!
Ms. Genesis Garcia was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. Surrounded by teachers in her family, she passionately pursued the calling of becoming a teacher. She grew up in a Catholic community, attended public elementary and a Catholic high school. She attended one of the well-known and most respected universities in the Philippines, Far Eastern University, where she earned a Bachelor Degree in Secondary Education, with a Major in Mathematics. She also received her Master’s Degree in Urban Education at Loyola Mount University.
Ms. Garcia has been teaching at St. Anthony’s for six years. In her seventh year, she will be joining the Junior High team as the 8th Grade Homeroom and Religion & Science middle school teacher. In addition, Ms. Garcia will be taking the role of the Student Government Moderator.
Ms. Garcia believes that to teach is to touch lives. Teaching and touching lives of young minds make her feel her worth and her purpose—an instrument of God. She is very excited to share the knowledge and talent God has given her in being able to help nurture and recognize her students’ potentials and God-given abilities.
“Let us thank all those who teach in Catholic schools. Educating is an act of love; it is like giving life.” – Pope Francis
