Welcome Back to School!
Happy New Year! I hope you had a joyful and restful winter break with your loved ones. We’re excited to dive into the second half of our school year together! Here’s a look at what’s coming up for the week of Jan. 6 -Jan. 10. Please make sure to read all the important information below to avoid any questions that may already be addressed. Deadlines:
- January 15: Christmas Around the World research project and presentation
1. Research about assigned country.
2. Use the websites your teacher provides to read about that country’s holiday traditions, foods, beliefs, and celebrations. You may also use other resources to research your country such as news articles, books, magazines, or interviews with people from that country.
3. As you learn about your country, write down your findings in your recording packet.
4. Complete the Venn Diagraph on the paper comparing and contrasting your own personal Christmas traditions with those of the country you researched. Be sure to use correct spelling, neat handwriting, and illustrations or pictures.
5. Prepare a presentation (google slides, PowerPoint, etc.) with all the information you researched about your country.
6. Present your research to your class.
- February 24: 2nd Trimester Mass Reflection (7 reflections required)

- Math: Relate Multiplication and Division, Facts of 2-10
- Reading: Sequence of Events; Technology Wins the Game & My One and Only Ivan
- Vocabulary: Lesson 11 words
- Word Study: Words with vowel sounds (oi, oy)
- Grammar: Verbs
- Religion: Lesson 11: Jesus Sends the Holy Spirit
- Prayer: Come Holy Spirit
- Science: Lesson 6– Air resistance affecting motion
- Social Studies: Lesson 8- California Indian Groups
