Dear Third Grade Families,
Hope everyone is doing well! Here’s a look at what's coming up for the week of March 10 -March 14. Please make sure to read all the important information below to avoid any questions that may already be addressed. If you missed last week’s email, you can find updates on my school blog: /third-grade
Deadlines:
Monday, March 10th
We have no school 3/10, due to our Faculty Lenten Retreat, led by our pastor Msgr. Sal Pilato.
Awards Ceremony
Our 2nd Trimester Awards Assembly will take place in the hall on Thursday, March 13, starting at 8am. Grades K-4 at 8am in the Hall, and Grades 5-8 at 9am in the Hall.
I have sent out direct emails to all families of our awardees. For a student to receive a Citizenship award, a student must earn A's (Outstanding = 92-100%) on both work habits and behavior grades. Therefore, students' daily behavior, participation, attendance, assignments, projects, ST MATH AND AR goals and work habits are IMPORTANT factors in receiving an award.
3rd Trimester Chapter book
Our second trimester chapter book is, Lemonade war by Jacqueline Davies. I recommend purchasing a copy of the book for your child, as it will be used both in and outside of class. The students will benefit from having their own copy to follow along and engage with the text. Please have your child bring the book by Monday, March 24th, please consider ordering it from Amazon using the link below: amazon link

Discovery Cube- March 31st
We are excited for our upcoming and final field trip of the year to Discovery Cube on March 31, 2025. This will be a wonderful hands-on learning experience for our students.
At this time, we are in need of 3-4 more parent chaperones to accompany us. If you are available and would like to volunteer, please let me know as soon as possible. All volunteers must be VIRTUS trained and fingerprinted to participate.
More details about the trip, including fees and logistics, will be sent out later this week.

Third Grade Parent Survey
As we continue our journey through third grade, I welcome your feedback on how the year is going and how we can work together to make this a positive and enriching experience for your child. While it may seem early for an evaluation, I want to ensure every family has the opportunity to share thoughts, ask questions, or offer suggestions—especially if you didn’t have a chance to do so at Back to School Night. This survey is anonymous, and I sincerely appreciate your input. Please keep feedback focused on the classroom experience. Click the link: https://forms.gle/HtPzhZ5Dd1Ysq3ubA
