4/28-5/2 Fifth Grade Newsletter

May 27: 3rd Trimester Mass Reflection (10 reflections required). 

All School Mass- Thurs., May 1st
It's St. Joseph the Worker's Feast Day. All students must wear Formal Mass Uniform. There will be NO All-School Mass on Friday 4/2. Students must come to school in regular uniforms this Friday.

April 30 – Yogurtland 5th Grade Fundraiser
The 5th grade class will be having a fundraiser at Yogurtland in Artesia on Wednesday, April 30th, all day long! Save the date and join us after school with your friends and family! Anyone who participates will receive a free dress pass. Please present a copy of your receipt to Ms. Alejandre the next day.


St. Anthony of Padua FESTIVAL, 05/16- 05/18
Our school campus will be set up with Rides, Games, Food and Fun for the entire family.

ALL SAP School families are required to serve 8 hours during the Fiesta. (8 hours per family on tuition contract) $200 fine for non-participation will be billed if your hours are not fulfilled. 

The Festival is also in need of the following donations to keep costs down, each class has been assigned the following items:

Grade 5   (2) Round Corn Tortilla Chips 64oz and (1) 6lb. Nacho Cheese Can

Please bring your donations to the fiesta table outside of church on Sundays or drop off at the School Office. All donations must be in by May 10, 2025

Important Reminder: Student Conduct & Online Safety
We have noticed students engaging in inappropriate conversations and games, both at school and online. Please talk to your children about internet safety, personal boundaries, and appropriate behavior. To address this, we will be reinforcing rules during recess and lunch. Parents of students involved will be contacted directly.

We encourage all families to review the Parent-Student Pledge and Parent-Student Handbook for more information on school expectations: Handbook Link.

Fifth Grade Parent Survey
As we continue our journey through fifth grade, I welcome your feedback on how the year is going and how we can work together to make this a positive and enriching experience for your child. While it may seem early for an evaluation, I want to ensure every family has the opportunity to share thoughts, ask questions, or offer suggestions—especially if you didn’t have a chance to do so at Back to School Night.

Classroom Tissue
As we continue our school year, our classroom is running low on tissues, and we would greatly appreciate any donations! With the colder months ahead, tissues are essential for keeping our students comfortable and our classroom clean.

If you are able to donate, please send a box of tissues with your child at your earliest convenience. Every contribution helps, and we truly appreciate your generosity and support!

May 12 – Fiesta Set up week begins, May Crowning (8th grade leads), Choir sings (12 noon dismissal, daycare till 3pm), Mary’s Day activities
May 16-18 – Parish Fiesta, please sign up for shifts and send in class donations to school (see calendar for Noon dismissals and student free days due to Fiesta set up and clean up)
